Notice the name of Czech native Alfons Mucha on the building behind the street performer. You will be able to enjoy his art throughout Prague, from the Mucha Museum to the Mucha window in St. Vitus Cathedral
Czech native tennis player, Ivan Lendl's collection of 150 Mucha posters were on display at the Municipal House. We were not allowed to take photos of the exhibition, but you will probably recognize his work from our prints.

The loss of freedom under communism is hard to imagine. Katka told us that news and music were heard through Radio Free Europe (remember it?). Music was smuggled into the Czech Republic by shipyard workers.
The Lennon wall seen in these pictures was spontaneously painted in 1980 after Lennon's death. They didn't know a lot about the Beatles, but did know that John Lennon stood for Peace. This graffiti wall was painted on every day, the police painted over it every night. |

Who is Sir Nicholas Winton?
A British man who helped organize safe passage of 670 Jewish children from Czechoslovakia to Britain on the eve of World War II. It was not until 1988 when the world learned of his actions. His wife found a scrapbook in their attic with a complete list of children's name's, parent's names, addresses of the families that took them in. To his surprise in 1988 on the BBC television show "That's Life" he was able to be reunited with some of the people he rescued.

There are many sites to visit in the Josefov neighborhood. Memorial plaque found in the sidewalk in front of a home of a Jewish family that was sent to a concentration camp. These plaques can be found in many countries of Europe.
